The 14th Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum will take place in Brisbane on 17-19 November 2025, bringing together senior government officials, business leaders and investors from both countries. The Solomon Islands economy has shown resilience in recent years. The Asian Development Bank forecasts growth of 2.9 per cent in 2025, rising to 3.2 per cent in 2026. The government is working to shift the economy away from reliance on logging towards more diversified growth in mining, agribusiness, infrastructure and services. A new Special Economic Zones Bill passed in 2024 aims to attract international investment, stimulate exports and foster regional development.

Infrastructure development is a national priority. Significant demand exists for projects in energy, water and sanitation, transport and digital connectivity. At the same time, businesses face challenges such as high shipping costs, skills shortages and regulatory complexity. These factors highlight the importance of direct dialogue between policymakers, investors and private sector operators.

The Brisbane forum provides a platform for companies to engage with ministers, senior officials and leading business figures, gaining first-hand understanding of government priorities and the investment climate. Australian businesses in construction, renewable energy, ICT and agribusiness will have opportunities to explore joint ventures and subcontracting roles. For Solomon Islands firms, the event will connect them with Australian suppliers, financiers and contractors able to support national development goals.

As the Solomon Islands continues its reform momentum and deepens regional partnerships, the November gathering in Brisbane comes at a crucial moment. For businesses serious about strengthening ties with the Solomon Islands and contributing to the Pacific’s future growth, this forum is an event not to be missed.
