The Australia Pacific Islands Business Council in collaboration with the Australia Fiji Business Council and the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council is planning the Developing Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure in the Blue Pacific conference at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Brisbane from 25 to 27 September 2023.
This will be the most inclusive conference on the Pacific ever held in Australia or perhaps anywhere bringing together political and business representatives of all 16 Pacific Islands Forum countries as well as Australia and New Zealand and other bilateral and multilateral donor countries. We estimate attendance of between 300 and 500 persons.
The objectives of the conference are to:
- assist Pacific Islands Countries decision makers achieve long term value for money in the awarding of contracts for the development of sustainable resilient infrastructure;
- provide an opportunity for each country to detail its pipeline of infrastructure projects to a donor audience to an audience of donors and private sector participants from all Pacific Islands countries and donor countries;
- and bring together the private sectors of Australia, New Zealand and other donor countries and the Pacific Islands Forum countries to facilitate connections to form joint ventures and employment of local contractors in the delivery of sustainable resilient infrastructure projects.
There will be a 50 booth trade expo for Australian and Pacific companies to showcase their capabilities.
