Pacer PLUS: Why It Matters Now

The Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus – or PACER Plus – entered into force on 13 December, marking the start of a new journey in which parties will determine and co-deliver their own priorities for increasing trade across the Pacific.  In this ANU Development Policy Centre posting here Australia’s Pacific Minister the Hon Alex Hawke MP argues why PACER Plus is now even more important.

Also, on 13 December 2020 the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment made a statement here about the entering into force of PACER Plus.

The Council is working with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Austrade on holding a Pacific business event in early 2021 to discuss the opportunities offered by PACER Plus for Australian and Pacific businesses.
