Australia Pacific Islands Business Council President, Mr Simon Gorman, Managing Director of Reeves International, and members of the Councils executive made an introductory call on Ms Elizabeth Peak, Head of the Office of the Pacific in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Their discussion centred around the Pacific Infrastructure Conference 2023 held in Brisbane from 25 to 27 September 2023, of which the Office of the Pacific was a major sponsor, and opportunities for collaboration between the Office of the Pacific and the Business Councils on future Pacific regional and bilateral events and on regional and bilateral policy issues germane to business. It was agreed that OTP and APIBC would schedule regular meetings during 2024.
Prior to her present role, Ms Peak was Deputy Head and First Assistant Secretary, Pacific Strategy Division (2020-2023), co-Head of the COVID Development Taskforce and First Assistant Secretary Human Development and Governance Division (2019-2020).
